What is PupBox

These days, you can get nearly anything in a monthly subscription box. From meal delivery services, beauty samples, clothing rentals, dog treats, etc., companies will deliver goods to your door monthly for a flat fee. Our family loves subscription boxes for their convenience and the thrill of getting a surprise package of goodies monthly. Both Mom and Dad subscribe to a couple different services, so we were incredibly excited to receive a pet subscription box when we brought our puppy Navy home.

How it works:

PupBox is a monthly subscription services to help dog parents navigate the joys of puppyhood. Each month you receive a box filled with toys, treats, accessories, and training information to help you be the best puppy parent. Everything in the box is completely customizable, meaning your friend’s puppy’s box will not be the same as yours! You will also not get the same products every month! As your pup grows, the contents of the box will change as well. 

What we love:

There are honestly so many things about PupBox that we love! We tried our best to simplify our main points:

• What sets PupBox apart from other pet subscription boxes is that everything is placed in the box for a reason! We never felt like items were just taken off a shelf and thrown into a box. We truly felt that every box was tailored to Navy and her needs.
• Like their motto, PupBox really was with us every step of the way. It seemed like every time we had a question about Navy and her growth and development, PupBox read our mind and provided the answer. For instance, we were worried about Navy’s size and if she was growing properly and our 5 month PupBox explained that her current weight was roughly half of what her adult weight would be. They were 100% correct! PupBox also read our minds as we transitioned Navy to a raw diet. Our February 2018 box included guidance and products that helped Navy fully transition to eating completely raw.
• High quality products. It is safe to say that Navy has loved 99% of everything she received in her PupBox. PupBox introduced us to some amazing brands (Zippy Paws, Vital Essentials). The ONLY thing Navy did not like was a Pet Qwerks babble ball she received in her November 2017 PupBox. Navy was absolutely terrified of the toy!

How much does it cost?

It’s simple. The more months you sign up for with PupBox, the more you save. Plans start at 39$ for one month, 34$ for 3 months (102$), 32$ for 6 months (192$), and 29$ for 12 months (348$).

What we would change:

As we’ve talked about, we LOVE PupBox, so there is not much we would want to change. We do wish however that there was a cheaper ‘PupBox Lite’ option for gifting a box to someone. I am not sure if this is a DC area thing, but dog birthday parties are pretty big in our pup friend group. We really appreciate that PupBox gives you the option to send a birthday box or gift a box to someone. Navy gets so incredibly excited to sniff out her monthly box, and we love sharing that excitement with others. However, 39$ for a gift can be a little pricey for some. A 20-25$ ‘lite’ option, would be more feasible in our books!
