Valentine’s Day Heart Shaped Dog Treats
Valentine’s Day is full of yummy treats and fabulous recipes. Looking for something sweet, healthy, and easy to surprise your pup with this Valentine’s Day? Our banana strawberry dog treats are incredibly simple to make and only take 3 ingredients.
We are all about making things easy in our house! If you read any of our previous recipe posts you’d know the one thing I hate about recipes is seeing a series of unneeded steps and unnecessary ingredients. When I make treats for my dogs I want to make things as simple as possible. I also don’t feel the need to throw in a bunch of extra ingredients in just to make something look more aesthetically pleasing. Sure, our treats don’t come out looking as good as other recipes…but I don’t think Duke and Navy notice (or mind) the difference! Honestly just seeing the two of them sit pretty and whine for a homemade treat means the absolute world to me.
Another thing I absolutely hate about recipe blog posts is when the writer goes on and on telling their entire life story before they get into the recipe. So without further ado, please enjoy this incredibly simple 3 ingredient Valentine’s Day dog treat recipe!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup oat flour (whole wheat flour works fine!)
- 2 medium bananas (the riper the better)
- 4 medium strawberries
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium bowl, mash two ripe bananas with a fork.
- Slowly fold 1 cup oat flour into your mashed bananas, stirring until mixed.
- Dice 4 medium strawberries into small pieces and add to your bowl.
- Use the back of a spoon to spread your batter over a silicone heart candy tray.
- Place the silicone heart candy tray on a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 15 minutes and allow the pan to cool before popping out and enjoying!
Well that’s it! Seriously this was probably the absolute easiest recipe I’ve ever whipped up and if you don’t believe me ask @growingwithluna–she was with me when I made this concoction.
Both Navy, Duke and little Luna give this recipe to Paws Up! I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day. As always if you decide to remake this recipe, snap a photo and share it with us we love seeing how much better recreate all of our recipes!
