We are pretty lucky when it comes to our pets’ dental health. Navy tolerates brushing and generally has pretty clean teeth. During her last checkup the only thing our vet mentioned about Navy’s teeth was to be a little cautious going forward with what she was chewing on. She had some wearing on her teeth that was normal, but over time it could lead to issues. They recommended we try giving her softer things to chew on.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

No shocker here! Duke was instantly obsessed with his Missing Link Smartmouth Dental Chew. The treats are hard, but not too hard. Duke really took to his new treat, putting the chew between his paws and chewing on it using his hard to reach back teeth.

Navy, on the other hand, was a bit more cautious. Navy tends to be more wary when trying new things. She takes her time sniffing and carefully chewing before she really dives in on a new treat. Though it took her a few minutes to warm up to her new chew, once she realized she liked it, there was no going back!

FINAL THOUGHTS

Yup, we are officially fans of Missing Link Smartmouth Dental Chews. We’ve finally found a healthy dental chew! We’ve tried a few other dental treats with Duke and Navy and let’s just say they don’t sit well with them. A lot of dental treats on the market have a lot of junk in them. We loved that Navy and Duke can get their supplement and dental benefits all in one treat. It’s a win-win! We will definitely be purchasing again.

Like we’ve said before, nothing beats manually brushing your dog’s teeth. But if there is something we can give our pups that have health benefits and help keep their teeth clean between brushing, we are on board!
