It’s been awhile …

So… it’s been over a month since our last blog post. I think since we started this blog two years ago, we’ve never taken a break for this long. Earlier this year we made a commitment to post once a week on our blog. It’s still crazy to me to think how we started this blog about two years ago and how much it has grown to date. This blog grew so much from being an extension of Navy’s instagram page–it has turned into a bit of a passion project for us.

If you know anything about me, you’d know I hate excuses with a passion. But truly, we’ve been really really busy. We have been focusing on our work-you know our full time jobs, what pays the bills, home projects, spending time with family, and really just giving our dogs the quality time they deserve. We’ve had a lot going on to say the least and we’ve been overwhelmed.

At first, I expected to get so much done during this quarantine. An excuse to stay in! Perfect, I could finally get caught up on everything I wanted to write about on our blog…  Ha! Expectations vs. reality: I am working from home, but working far longer hours and I am not complaining. However, this leaves little time for Zach and I to create content in our free time or update this blog or our social media really.

I almost never just sit down, write, and post to our blog. The majority of our posts take a few weeks to put together! I never want to post just to post. That isn’t the type of blog or social media account for that matter that we run.

Looking ahead to the remainder of 2020, we do want to recommit to regularly updating our blog and keeping our online community updated with all things Duke and Navy. In addition, we want to get back to posting more tips about how we raise our dogs, documenting our adventures, and more.

Before I end this post or go off on another tangent… I wanted to give you a little update on what we’ve been doing the past two-three months. Nothing crazy, nothing exciting, but we’ve been happy and enjoying our time together.

  • Began the journey to grow Navy and Duke a fabulous backyard of grass.
  • Committed to two 30+ min walks a day with the dogs, together as a family.
  • Painted our spare bedroom (also known as Navy’s “office”).
  • Started growing our own herbs.
  • Exploring our new town.
  • Tried some amazing wines.
  • Taught Duke how to “wave.”
  • Celebrated my birthday…and so much more!

Stay tuned for more from us. We have some exciting blog posts planned. I promise, you’ll be hearing more from us soon!
