These last 365 days have been A LOT for our little family. I know we share photos and videos of Navy on Instagram daily, but it’s been awhile since we sat down and got personal. In January 2018 we started this blog for just that reason. We wanted to share a little more than the few sentences we type up in our Instagram captions.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thanksgiving has easily become one of my favorite holidays, yet growing up it was my least favorite. As I’ve grown and matured, I’ve realized that this holiday is much more than food, football, and terrible traffic.
It is safe to say that cities across the U.S. are making a push to be more pet friendly. As a result, more apartments complexes are opening their dogs to welcome pets. Property managers and landlords are starting to realize that pets are an important or even essential part of a renter’s family and making the necessary changes in their policies, facilities, and community to allow renters’ furry companions.
What says fall more than apple picking? Some of my fondest memories growing up were going to visit the local apple orchard. Now that the weather has cooled down slightly in the Northern Virginia area, our family has been trying to enjoy more outdoor activities with Navy.
So you decided to go on vacation. That is awesome and we are officially jealous! Should you bring your dog along with you? Now that is a tough question to answer. Being away from your dog is hard–believe me, I get it. But sometimes your pup may be more stressed by joining you on your vacation.
We have been giving our dog, Navy, CBD dog treats for nearly six months. Throughout this time, we’ve noticed a number of positive benefits. Wag! is here to help keep your dog cool, calm, and collected this summer. The #1 on-demand dog walking and sitting service is celebrating this summer with free dog-friendly ice cream and dog heat safety tips for pet-owners at local dog parks in the New York City and Washington, DC areas. We’ve partnered with Wag! to help promote this amazing event and share some of the heat safety tips we learned.
A little over a year about we brought Navy home. Shortly after, she made her Instagram debut. Initially, we started her account for fun. Instagram was an easy outlet to share all of Navy’s puppy photos with our friends and family without flooding our personal accounts. We certainly did not think anything would come of us posting her photos online. Nevertheless, over 365 days of posting to Navy’s Instagram our audience grew to over 41,000 online friends!
It’s officially puppy season! Early spring through late summer is one of the most popular times to bring a puppy home. Warmer months are certainly more ideal for starting to raise and train a young puppy. So you think you want a corgi? Might I ask why? Have you done your research on the breed? Have you read about the potential health risks? Did you know they are stubborn and tend to bark … a lot?
There is no doubt about it, Mom and Dad love wine. As a pup, Navy is not allowed to drink wine (or grape juice for that matter) but wineries are a great dog friendly option for adults and their furry friends. Northern Virginia is filled with excellent wineries. We racked and stacked and rated our top dog friendly wineries in Northern Virginia.
