The Barking Muse Review | Organic Pet Cleanser & Nose + Paw Balm

Moisturizing + Conditioning Pet Cleanser

Our review:

We wish you could scratch and sniff the screen to smell how good Navy smells after her bath and how yummy this cleanser smells! It is difficult to describe smells in words, but it sort of smells like a cinnamon apple pie (it smells incredibly yummy!). *However, looking back at the ingredients list on their website, I have no idea how I determined that smell …*

We love that the product is non-toxic and organic/natural. When we use it on Navy, we know that it is not harming her. The first time we bathed Navy with the Barking Muse Pet Cleanser she got a little soap on her face and she licked it right off!

When Navy was a pup we stocked up on a couple different puppy shampoos from Amazon and Petsmart. I specifically remember prepping for her first bath, pulling out the bottle, and reading through the directions. This PUPPY SHAMPOO had a big old warning on that back stating to not use on dogs under 12 weeks … what the heck? Needless to say, we are thrilled that we do not have to worry about harming Navy in any way when bathing with the Baking Muse Moisturizing + Conditioning Pet Cleanser.

Navy sleeps with us … like literally right on our pillows, sometimes resting her head on our heads. Though neither Mom nor Dad have pet allergies, occasionally we wake up feeling a little stuffy from breathing in Navy’s dander.  With that being said, we are big fans of the fact that the Barking Muse products are hypo-allergenic. They help reduce pet dander and minimize seasonal allergies. We definitely noticed a big difference in the amount of dander and shedding after using the pet cleanser. Because Navy is a low-rider, she tends to get red eyes and horrible eye boogers especially after walks through the grass or gardens. For about a week or so after bathing, we saw less eye booger discharge from Navy (okay that sounds really gross…).

Nose + Paw Balm

Our review:

Navy plays pretty rough and her paws certainly reflect it. She has extremely rough paws and we have been searching for the right paw moisturizer (unsuccessfully) for awhile. We had tried another paw moisturizer and it left Navy’s paws incredibly oily. We had greasy little paw prints all over our furniture for a few days. The first thing we loved about the Barking Muse Paw + Nose Balm was that it quickly moisturized Navy’s paws and didn’t leave any unwanted greasy residue. We also instantly saw results… no seriously, look at the pictures below! Finally, there were no more rough, scratchy paws. After using the balm once, her little toe beans were soft and pink again.

The Paw + Nose Balm also smells delicious (and Navy thinks so too!). It has an amazing orange/vanilla smell. As I opened the container up to take another sniff Navy instantly ran over to investigate. Navy is currently crying on the other couch because she thinks it’s a snack. But don’t worry if your pup steals a lick!

The instructions on the back of the product say to use two fingers to dip into the balm and apply to the nose, paws, or infected area. Navy is very particular with her feet being touched. We loved that the tin was large enough to fit Navy’s entire paw in as we placed her paw into the balm directly.
